DEPLOYMENT

Electronic logbook Hedgehog-2 can be installed in three possible configurations: standalone, networked and jointly with CK-2007 SCADA/EMS. In standalone configuration, the user authorization is based on local operating system accounts. In case of networked configuration, the client and server parts of the logbook are installed on separate computers. The server side is installed on a dedicated server while client software is set up on the personal workstations. In this case the logbook authorization system integrates into Microsoft Active Directory and requires appropriate networked infrastructure.  If the logbook is integrated with CK-2007, the logbook uses this SCADA authorization system.

Networked and CK-2007-integarated deployment configuration may have multiple redundant servers with automatic data synchronization. In practice, there is usually no more than three such servers.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Depending on deployment configuration, Hedgehog requires the following operating system and database installations.

Individual workstations used in a Hedgehog-2 deployment should be capable of adequate execution of Hedgehog-2 client software. The capabilities of server are determined by the size of the record database, size of the record archive and the number of logbook users.
