On October 26, 2021, the head office of Monitor Electric hosted a seminar titled «Using the New Switching Management Subsystem (CK11.OMS) for Planning and Executing Work in Electric Networks».

Modern operational information systems built on a digital twin of the electric network enable a fundamentally new level of planning and executing switching operations. In essence, this represents a new paradigm of operational and technological management based on a digital ADMS system. The seminar participants, representatives of Rosseti Lenenergo PJSC, Rosseti Center PJSC, Rosseti Center and Volga Region PJSC, Grid Company JSC, IDGC of Urals OJSC, Yekaterinburg Electric Grid Company JSC, and Monitor Electric JSC, discussed this topic and related issues of effectively building technological management processes under present-day conditions.

During the seminar, the main switching execution scenarios in the OMS environment, which is part of ADMS CK-11, were demonstrated, taking into account operations in fully unobservable networks and close interaction with field crews:

— emergency outage management, planning and execution of switching operations, sending commands to field crews;

— creating a work plan from approved requests, managing planned outages;

— FLISR in advisory mode for operational personnel;

— automatic generation of switching sequences and switching forms.

The seminar participants noted the advantages of digital transformation of switching planning and execution processes:

— automatic filling of the electronic operational logbook and the work permits and orders logbook;

— an end-to-end, transparent switching execution process, from request creation to restoration of the normal network configuration;

— operational personnel are relieved of the need to manually maintain the current network state, as the network model is automatically updated when command execution is confirmed;

— automatic calculation of SAIDI and SAIFI;

— transfer of reliable information to adjacent systems (Outage Analysis software suite, etc.).
