UPDATED THE APPROACH TO DISPLAYING DEFECTS, REQUESTS, WORK PERMITS, AND ORDERS
Having conducted research aimed at studying the usability of displaying operational information on SCADA mimic diagrams, Monitor Electric specialists concluded that the simultaneous display of visual elements for recorded equipment defects, approved equipment outage requests, as well as active work permits and instructions, often complicates diagram analysis. The simultaneous presence of a large number of icons can lead to diagram clutter, obscuring equipment status indication, its dispatch name, and other important information. To improve the ergonomics of the CK-11 interface and eliminate information noise on operational diagrams, we have implemented a consolidated visualisation system for defects, requests, work permits, and instructions within the MAG Terminal application interface. All information is now contained within a single dynamic icon displaying the current status of work on the equipment, with the ability to view details of interest. The new solution significantly declutters the diagram, enabling dispatch personnel to instantly assess the situation, ultimately enhancing the usability of the system.
The new mechanism for displaying defects, requests, work permits, and instructions on operational diagrams will become available to all our clients upon installation of the latest CK-11 update.
