Experts from Monitor Electric will speak at the Sixth International Scientific and Technical Conference «CIM in Russia and the World – 2026,» to be held on 5–6 February in Sochi. Specialists will present proposed solutions for information exchange, standardisation of data model descriptions, and successful migration cases to CIM.
Head of Generation Projects Department Anastasia Vasilyeva will share with colleagues the prospects for applying standardised exchange of requests, repair schedules, and data exchange forms via IEC 60870-5-104 protocol. The proposal is to transition from text-based requests to a machine-readable format. The new request type will be integrated into the information model, establish linkages with other objects, and simplify business processes for equipment maintenance scheduling.
The second solution will be common rules for creating and coordinating data exchange forms, which regulate data reception and transmission as well as the configuration of the operational technological information (OTI) transmission system. The rules will reduce the time required for form approval and OTI exchange setup between dispatch centres and centralised control centres.
Leading Development Stream Expert Anton Pisarenko will share experience in preparing a standard for describing the data model and information exchange for switching forms and programmes. This is necessary for automating switching operations and transitioning to an electronic format. The solution is supported by converting switching documents from text format into a formalised element of the information model linked to other objects within the model.
Chief Development Stream Architect Maxim Batishchev will discuss the experience of successfully migrating the Project Management System for the Prospective Development of the Unified Energy System of Russia to CIM. The transition to a unified information model eliminated discrepancies between object descriptions, eliminated certain manual operations, and enabled two-way information exchange.
Senior Engineer of the EMS/DTS Commissioning Department Taisiya Galkina, together with a specialist from the Smolensk Regional Dispatch Office (a branch of JSC «SO UPS»), will share their experience of collaboration in designing the equipment overload protection automation (AOPO) model in CIM. The presentation focuses on mechanisms for project coordination and technical requirements development. Using a real-world case of canonical model modification, Taisiya will demonstrate how complex tasks can be handled productively and in the shortest possible time.
The «CIM in Russia and the World» conference annually brings together professionals from energy companies, software and IT solution developers and manufacturers, research institutes, industry regulators, and international experts to discuss the challenges of unifying information exchange in the power industry. This year, nearly 50 presentations are scheduled. The conference is organised by JSC «SO UPS.»
Monitor Electric traditionally delivers several presentations. Last year, company specialists spoke about the development of new standards to address existing industry challenges, the prospects for standardising processes in operational, technological and situational management using the SIRIUS intelligent registration and situation management reporting and analytical system, as well as data harmonisation and ensuring single data entry into asset management systems and SCADA using CK.MDM — a software product for geospatial modelling of power grid facilities.
Participation in the conference is available by registering via the link until 31 January inclusive. All are welcome!
