BASHKIRENERGO SPECIALISTS HAVE SUCCESSFULLY TESTED OUR FLOC
Specialists from Bashkirenergo conducted field tests of a new solution from Monitor Electric designed to automatically detect a faulted section in a 6–20 kV network during a single-phase earth fault (SPEF), capable of operating under conflicting signals from short-circuit current indicators. The solution is based on the FLOC (Feeder Fault Location) system developed by our company as part of the ADMS CK-11 development effort.

FLOC testing included two stages with real but controlled SPEFs. The first was conducted on an in-service network section of the Northern Distribution Grid District of Ufa City Electric Networks; the second at the Novo-Ufa Distribution Grid District site of Central Electric Networks. In both cases, FLOC reliably identified the faulted section.

Deployment of the new technology will significantly facilitate the work of operations personnel in locating and isolating the faulted section and will improve the reliability of power supply to consumers, primarily by minimizing outage duration.

The deployment of FLOC is a logical continuation of the development of Bashkirenergo’s ATCS system, which we described earlier.
