The Sixth International Scientific and Technical Conference «CIM in Russia and the World — 2026» took place in Sochi. Specialists from our company presented the proposed solutions for information exchange, standardisation of data model descriptions, and successful examples of migration to CIM.

The conference was opened by Eduard Sheremettsev, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, who emphasised the great importance of data exchange unification for the Russian power system. In his view, achieving uniformity in formats and standards for data exchange between industry entities in a heterogeneous digital environment remains a challenging task.

Representatives of JSC «SO UPS» noted that over the next five years, it is planned to fully transition information exchange in the electric power industry to CIM standards. This applies both to interaction between electric power industry entities and to data exchange with federal and regional executive authorities.

The presentations by Monitor Electric experts covered various approaches to standardising information exchange within the CIM framework. In particular, a proposal was made to transition from text-based requests and text-based switching programmes/forms to machine-readable formats with linkages to other objects in information models. Case studies were presented demonstrating how migration to CIM simplified business processes in companies and reduced the time required for operational tasks.

«The use of CIM is an indicator of a business's digital maturity. The higher a company's technological development, the more actively it integrates this model and the broader the range of processes in which it is applied,» shared Pavel Shek, Director of Generation Projects at Monitor Electric, during the conference.


***The «CIM in Russia and the World» conference in 2026 brought together over 160 representatives from industry regulators, managers and employees of JSC «SO UPS,» generating and grid companies, as well as software and IT solution developers and manufacturers. A total of 46 presentations were delivered. The number of presentations by software developers increased 3.5 times compared to the previous year.
